TULSA — The state’s recent change in license plates has resulted in some PikePass customers receiving citations from the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. More than 800,000 vehicles in Oklahoma use the PikePass system. But as new license plates are placed on those vehicles, if the PikePass holders have not updated their information with the Turnpike Authority, the PikePass isn’t read properly at toll gates. Turnpike Authority spokesman Jack Damrill says that when a PikePass is misread, the system tries to find that license plate. If the license plate cannot be found, a citation is issued.
