Missouri holds off Texas A&M rally in Big 12 Baseball Tournament

Texas A&M tried to make it interesting, but third-seeded Missouri held on for a 5-2 win over the sixth-seeded Aggies Wednesday evening in the Big 12 baseball tournament at the Bricktown Ballpark. Missouri’s Kyle Gibson earned his 10th victory of the season by giving up three hits over seven shutout innings, exiting with a 5-0 lead. But Texas A&M managed a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning and brought the tying run to the plate with one out before a pair of groundouts killed the rally. Missouri’s Steve Gray hit his fourth home run of the year, a two-run, opposite-field shot in the fourth inning. Kyle Mach doubled and tripled for the Tigers. Both teams will take Thursday off. The Tigers face seventh-seeded Texas Tech Friday
