Since 2002, my work has been a series known as The Progression Concept. Non- objective color field paintings, digital and analog music, poetry and narrations, as well as abstract film installations work with each other in an attempt to explain the ideas, actions and results concerning the process of self development. Elements of art and design including color, balance, depth and harmony are used to visually and audibly convey elements of destiny, education, spirituality, and personal growth in a single body of multi media work.
The conceptual aspect of this work begins with poetry. To me, poetry is an intention in its purest form, and as an account of personal history, the written word can be used as a tool for future progression. These poems evolve into music in whatever style and genre they become. Short films containing the music are looped and projected onto the painted backdrops as installation sculptures.
From poetry to installation, these works are intended to promote intimacy, education and healing from the heart of myself to the heart of the audience…
